Goodwill Houston "Totally 80's" Gala Goes Back to the Future to Support Mission
The 80's were alive again at the 28th Annual Goodwill Houston Gala! More than 425 guests joined Goodwill for a "Totally 80's" party on May 7th at the River Oaks Country Club. This year's gala was the most successful to date, raising proceeds that will directly support Goodwill's mission of creating local jobs and finding jobs for those with barriers to employment.
ABC-13 Eyewitness News anchor Gina Gaston was welcomed back for the second year as the event's emcee and helped to toast Goodwill's game-changing programs, employees, volunteers and supporters. Dressed in their best 1980's digs, guests enjoyed an elegant seated dinner, bid on world-class auction items and danced the night away to The Spazmatics.
This year's attendees included a large number of Young Professionals. "I'm grateful to those who have attended and supported our mission for many years," says Goodwill Houston President/CEO Steve Lufburrow. "But I'm especially grateful to see the next generation of supporters getting involved in our events. The gala is a fun opportunity to learn more about how Goodwill is changing lives, and I'm excited to continue making friends in the Young Professional community through this event."
