HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Ready for lunch?
If you're in the Spring Branch area, you may want to check out Peli Peli Kitchen on the Katy Freeway.
Eyewitness News recently went to check out the casual dining concept by chef Paul Friedman, and partners Michael Tran and Thomas Nguyen, and was pretty impressed with their unique South African fusion menu and colorful murals.
If you are a fan of Peli Peli at The Galleria and in Vintage Park, you should know first that this a different concept and a different menu. But, they're still blazing trails with their incredible dishes fit for a tourist's palate.

Peli Peli Kitchen offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu pulling from the richest of Dutch, English, French Portuguese and Indian traditions.
For a real culinary adventure, the braised oxtail or Hugeuenot porkbelly are phenomenally tender and bursting with flavor.
We'd also recommend the South African fajitas paired with sweet potatoes, or try the naan tacos stuffed with fried fish and a side of grilled cauliflower and South African yellow rice.
Meantime, you'll be dining under a kaleidoscope of colors and gorgeous murals. The seating is ample, with long benches and tables for big parties, and tables and chairs for couples and small groups.
The kitchen offers local craft beer, sparkling Topo Chico, and a variety of drinks from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine.
This is hands down one of west Houston's coolest places for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Located at 9090 Katy Freeway at Campbell Road. Their number is 281-257-9500.
