Police find shotgun, pot inside suspect's car in NW Houston

HOUSTON

The chase started on Highway 290 near Antoine and came to an end on 32nd 1/2 near Hinton.

Officers started pursuing the suspects after a tip about a suspicious car at an apartment building. Police say the suspects were driving without headlights and refused to stop. That sparked a short chase that finally came to an end when both men inside the car got out and ran.

"Officers kind of lost sight when they jumped out but when they did jump out another officer in the area saw the guy run along the fence line and jump the fence and they were able to apprehend him in the backyard," said Sgt. T. Richardson with the Houston Police Department.

Police say they found a shotgun and some marijuana inside the car. The man who was arrested told officers he ran because his license is suspended. He is expected to face a felony evading charge.
