Surveillance video from N. Houston pawn shop robbery released

HOUSTON

It happened March 26 at around 4:10pm at the Diamond Pawn Shop at 8900 Jensen Drive. Investigators say five men armed men entered the business and stole jewelry, cash and firearms. They fled in a stolen white Ford F-250 pickup, which was found later that day in the 3300 block of Sadler.

The suspects are described only as black males armed with weapons and with their faces covered.

Police say one of the crooks was carrying a distinct AK-47 pistol gripped rifle. They're concerned the violence may escalate if the thieves aren't caught.

"They drew their pistols on everyone and also leaving the store, they shot numerous times, not concerned with anyone being killed. They just shot randomly, easily they could have killed someone," said Officer Raul Yzquido with the Houston Police Department.

Police are working to see if these suspects may be linked to similar robberies. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact Houston police at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

In addition to any Crime Stoppers tips that may help lead to an arrest, police say the owner of the pawn shop is also offering a $5,000 reward.
