The home on Paul Quinn near T.C. Jester started to burn just before midnight.
When firefighters arrived, the entire home was up in flames. However, once firefighters knocked out the fire they discovered two malnourished dogs in the backyard of the house.
Animal control officers picked up the dogs. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
