DEA raids three Humble area homes

HUMBLE, TX

Neighbors we spoke with say they had no idea there was drug activity going on in their neighborhood. When the raid was over, agents say they confiscated drugs, money and weapons.

Neighbors say they saw an initial wave of law enforcement before their entire neighborhood was swarming with activity on Wednesday.

One neighbor said, "Some of the officers said, 'Go back in and don't come out. We're trying to get the bad guys from your neighborhood.'"

DEA agents went through every inch of some of the homes, tearing out walls, windows, burglar bars and security cameras. Agents say they found 32 kilos of cocaine, a small amount of money and marijuana, and 14 weapons including a high powered rifle.

Those who live here say they seemed like typical homes on the street, with holiday decorations always out.

"I just thought they were scared like everybody else and put a fence up and a couple of big pit bulldogs," another neighbor said.

Two people were arrested as agents say the raid is part of an ongoing investigation. The DEA has not released their names, nor what charges they may face.
