Parker and her wife Kathy Hubbard were toasted at a reception at the Corinthian in downtown. Parker says when she returned from her wedding in Palm Springs, her many friends and supporters said they wanted to be part of the special day the couple has waited so long for.
"Twenty-three years ago, we would not have imagined that we would be able to do so, so this is truly a special time in our lives," said Mayor Parker. "And we've had two months to get used to being married, and I have to say it's wonderful."
Parker says the reception was planned by her friends and 375 guests said they would attend.
