Person of interest arrested during murder investigation

RICHMOND, TX

The body discovered in a vehicle in Richmond Monday morning has been positively identified as that of Navor Flores Catalan, 54, of Richmond. Catalan is the registered owner of the vehicle he was found in.

Richmond police are treating this case as a homicide. Circumstances surrounding the death of Navor Catalan are still under investigation.

In addition, a person of interest in this case has been arrested on another charge not involving the homicide. Edilberto Navarro-Rebollar, 31, of Richmond was arrested and charged with evading arrest when he ran from police while officers were talking to him about the events surrounding the homicide. He has not been charged with the homicide at this point.

A tip from an anonymous caller led police to Navarro-Rebollar. This arrest took place around 10:30pm Monday in the 23700 block of the Southwest Fwy. Navarro-Robollar has been placed in the Fort Bend County Jail awaiting bond.
