Officers had just taken a report for a stolen Honda Civic, when a vehicle matching the description passed by them. After a short chase, the suspect crashed the car into a gate at the San Lucas apartment complex on Glenmont near Rampart.
The suspect took off on foot. Police caught him a short time later. The suspect had to go to the hospital for injuries he suffered in the crash.
He's now facing car theft charges.
