A 22-year old man will spend more than 15 years behind bars in connection with a deadly Humble bank robbery.

Demontray Ward pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery. Investigators say Ward and two others stormed the Regions Bank back in April and pistol whipped employees.

They allegedly pointed the guns at police as they tried to drive away from the scene. That's when an officer opened fire, hitting and killing the getaway driver.

Ward and 24-year-old Devon Hayes were arrested on scene. Hayes' sentencing is scheduled for May.
