The fire broke out at the Abbey at Conroe Apartments at 229 I-45 around 10am. Firefighters were able to quickly get the upper hand on the fire and contain the damage to a single unit.
Residents were able to get out of the complex, but a 45-year-old woman did suffer first-, second- and third-degree burns to her face, hands and chest.
She was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center, then later to Memorial Hermann Hospital for further treatment. Her condition is not known at this time.
Officials say the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but an investigation is ongoing.
