Baytown police were called to a reception hall in the 4200 block of West Baker Road at about 3pm Sunday after a caller reported unwanted guests who refused to leave the hall. A woman said she was throwing a birthday party for her baby and didn't want her ex-boyfriend's family members present.
As a disturbance between guests became more physical, the officer called for backup and decided to shut the party down out of concern for the safety of children and other guests.
Police say some of the guests became belligerent and refused to cooperate with officers. After encounters with one combative woman reportedly became a threat to officers, the officers deployed a taser on her multiple times. Police say her husband pushed officers in his effort to defend his wife.
Jodi White, 32, and her husband Christopher White, 37, both of Houston, were ultimately arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
