New Jersey woman admits carjacking in effort to get baby

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ

Forty-five-year-old Floribert Nava of Wildwood faces 12 years in state prison with a plea deal she struck Thursday.

The Press of Atlantic City reports the teen's baby was adopted by a family, and Nava, an acquantaince of the teen, believed she should have been given the child.

Nava used a fake gun on March 22, 2013 and forced the teen to drive her from Wildwood to Philadelphia.

The victim crashed into a police car on the Ben Franklin Bridge to get the officer's attention.

That's when Nava was arrested.

As a native of Mexico who is not a U.S. citizen, Nava could face deportation.
