Saturday marks National Margarita Day

No need to wait for Cinco de Mayo to raise your glass of tequila because today is National Margarita Day.

There is much debate as to the exact individual responsible for inventing the classic margarita, but it was during the 1930s or 1940s.

Frozen margaritas were invented later in the 1970s when an inventive bartender converted a soft serve ice cream unit into a frozen margarita machine.

Several local restaurants and bars are celebrating the holiday with special deals.
