The man was driving when he noticed the fireball and shot video with his cell phone.
He posted the video on YouTube, and it has since gone viral.
An astronomer from the University of Southern Maine saw the video and couldn't rule out a meteor, but says if he had to guess, it looks like space junk -- probably a satellite breaking up and falling back to earth.
