Houston volunteer opportunities for MLK Day of Service

HOUSTON

Check out this list of Monday events for places in Houston where you can make a difference in honor of MLK's legacy:

  • Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall, welcomes volunteers from 9am to noon and 1-3pm.

  • University of Houston students need help with Vita Living and Habitat for Humanities projects beginning at 9:30am. (832-842-6245)

  • Sterling High School, 11625 Martindale Road, is the site of a neighborhood cleanup project 10:30am-3:30pm. (832-393-4999)

  • MLK Center, 2720 Sampson Street, welcomes volunteers to help winterize homes for the elderly 7:30am-3:30pm. (713-579-2729)

  • Community trash cleanup from Nettleton Streets to Scott Streets, 9-11:30am. (713-579-2729)

  • MLK Center, 2720 Sampson Street, welcomes volunteers to prepare and pass out food at the MLK Community Rally. (713-579-2729)
