California Little Leaguer, 14, sued by former coach for injury during celebration

ROSEVILLE, CA

Joe Paris is the boy's father. He says his son was at second base when his teammate connected for a game-winning hit.

As his son rounded third, he threw off his helmet in celebration. It hit his coach, Alan Beck, in the leg.

Beck is now seeking $500,000 in damages, claiming the helmet caused his Achilles injury.

"I thought it was a joke," said Paris. "Then I realized it absolutely wasn't. Now I think it's absurd."

The case goes before a judge in March.Paris says he has already spent $4,000 fighting the case.
