Houston man accused of burning daughter because she was having trouble with alphabet

HOUSTON

Anthony Ray Parker, 25, is charged with injury to a child. According to court documents, on October 24, he burned his daughter with a lighter in their Third Ward home because she was having trouble with the alphabet.

Police say when they interviewed the daughter, she told them that her father said he was going harm her if she told anyone what happened. She then went on to say that Parker lit his lighter, held her arms behind her back and then burned her.

Bond has not been set in Parker's case.
