Officers were called to a home on Vendi at Arnage late Friday evening. When they arrived, a man briefly opened the door with a weapon in his hand before barricading himself inside.
Police quickly set up a perimeter, and the man -- identified as Gustavo Andres Vasquez, 34 -- eventually surrendered without incident.
Investigators said they then went inside the home where they found 31-year-old Anges Whitaker Vasquez dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Family members tell us the man and woman were husband and wife.
The man was arrested and now faces a murder charge.
