Houston attorney sues psychic over 'love ritual'

HOUSTON

Michael Busby filed a fraud and breach of contract lawsuit against the Psychic Love Spell Center and Melena Thorn.

According to the suit, Busby went to Thorn's for a tarot card reading and afterward Thorn recommended a ritual to reunite husband and wife for $500. The suit claims that Busby also paid $2,700 to Thorn for 27 chakra lights for the ritual and that the money was to be cleansed and returned to him. Busby claims the money was never returned to him.

Thorn told KTRK she never received $2700 from Busby. Thorn claims that Busby was happy with the ritual but later called and complained that it was a waste of time and his time was worth $300 an hour and he wanted his money back.

Busby's suit claims that more than 100 people have been defrauded by the psychic business, but Thorn told KTRK, "I've never had a problem."

The suit was filed in the 270th State District Court.
