Prosecutors in Olympia, Washington state say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a friend reported the teen had threatened to shoot students at his school.

The Olympian newspaper reports that police found three guns and ammunition in the boy's home, and arrested him Monday.

Prosecutors say the teen had done Internet research on school shootings. The mother of the student at Black Hills High School told a court Tuesday that her son has "had some depression issues."
