Investigators: Huffman pair admits growing their own marijuana

Crews with the Huffman Volunteer Fire Department were sent to the home on Ash Place at around 11:30pm. According to the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office, once the flames were put out, firefighters discovered what appeared to be an indoor marijuana growing operation inside.

"Investigators from the Fire Marshal's office were called to assist and found evidence of an indoor marijuana grow operation with approximately 15 plants," said Lt. Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.

Herman Toney, 35, and Shelley Sheffield, 40, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Investigators said they admitted to growing their own marijuana.

Both were booked into the Harris County Jail.
