Chimney blamed in northeast Harris County house fire

The cold weather has many turning on their fireplaces and for one family it started a fire

A house fire in northeast Harris County is believed to have started in the chimney.

Crews were called out to the house on Bollar in Crosby around midnight.

Investigators say a couple was asleep when they were awakened by smoke. They got out OK. Firefighters found the upper part of the chimney on fire.

The damage was contained to the upper portion of the chimney and the couple returned home.
