Robbery in Acres Homes leads to manhunt

HOUSTON

It happened in the street on Millville Drive, leading to a search that lasted several hours off Granville and North Shepherd.

Houston police say it was around 12:30am when two people were approached in the Acres Homes area by two suspects. Police say both suspects demanded cash, cell phones and wallets from the victims.

That's when the suspects took off running and the victims called police.

"Upon arrival, they made contact with 2 complainants who had been robbed," said Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department. "They described the males. The officer checked the area and they were lucky enough to find the two suspects. One suspect was immediately taken into custody. The other suspect fled out in the woods."

The second suspect remains on the run, despite a search from a K-9 unit. Police say the pair used a fake gun in the robbery.
