The shooting happened at a home on Stillstone near Rankin.
Deputies tell us the victim and his girlfriend were home when they heard a knock at the door. When he opened it, someone shot him once in the chest and ran away. He's expected to survive, police say.
Investigators talked to neighbors and got a description of the vehicle seen leaving the house at the time of the shooting. Moments later, they spotted a vehicle matching that description and pulled it over. It turns out the driver is the victim's ex-wife.
Deputies are questioning both the ex-wife and the girlfriend. No charges have been filed.
