Alvin ISD received an anonymous tip which indicated that a student at Alvin Jr. High was in possession of a "hit list." Campus officials and Alvin ISD police began an investigation of the allegation.
Alvin ISD Police Chief Mike Putnal said, "We take this allegation extremely seriously and our priority is to ensure the safety and security of all of our students and staff. We immediately went to work to assess the validity of the report and to determine if there was any type of threat. To this point in the investigation, no specific threats have been identified regarding fellow students. We will continue the investigation with all due diligence. "
Campus administration and law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate this situation. Parents have been notified.
