The Coast Guard said in a statement released late Saturday the missing man is 62-year-old Joseph Ames. The guard says he has gray hair and was wearing fishing attire.
The Coast Guard received a report Friday afternoon that the man was overdue. Nearly three hours later, at 5:50 p.m., crews with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department found Ames' boat in the bay, but the man was not on board.
Several crews have been searching with helicopters, jets and boats.
