It happened on West Road near Gessner Saturday afternoon.
Deputies say Freddy Fuentes' wife lost control of her car. That's when he started to run next to the driver's side door, then jumped onto the side door.
But Fuentes' wife couldn't get the car to stop. He was hit by a truck while he was still clinging to the door.
Fuentes was critically injured and died at the hospital.
