It happened shortly after midnight Friday at a home in the 2900 block of Avenue K.
According to Galveston police, the homeowner heard a noise at his back door, and when he checked his surveillance video, he saw the suspects on his property. The victim immediately called 911 and grabbed his handgun.
One of the men then kicked open the back door to his home, pulled out a handgun and threatened to kill the homeowner. That's when the homeowner fired one shot at the suspects.
The suspects took off running in an unknown direction, but it doesn't appear that either of them was injured in the shooting.
Both suspects were described as short-haired black men between the ages of 16 and 20. One of the suspects is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 140 pounds and had a small scar on the left side of his head and a tattoo on his left forearm. The second suspect is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects' identities is asked to contact Galveston Police Department Detective Gaspard at 409-765-3778.
