William Cain, 22, and Vickie Cain, 21, are both charged with injury to a child by ommission. The charges come following a 3-month investigation.
Police the child was originally brought to Bayshore Hospital's emergency room by his parents back on March 27. Hospital staff say the child appeared to be scalded from the waist down and was in full cardiac and respiratory arrest.
The child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving there.
Pasadena police obtained a warrant to enter the parents home. Inside, detectives found various items that treat burns. They also say the found receipts for medications that were bought two days before the child was taken to Bayshore's emergency room.
Charges against the parents were filed earlier this week. Bond for each is set at $30,000.
