The crash happened on the Katy Freeway at the 610 West Loop just after midnight.
The officer was attempting to pull over the driver of a Dodge Neon for speeding when that driver crashed. The officer was unable to avoid the wreck and hit that vehicle.
The officer was not hurt. The driver of the Neon suffered minor injuries.
