In the recent past, the 41st president has marked his birthday with such stunts as skydiving. But he spent nearly two months in a Houston hospital for treatment of a bronchitis-related cough before being discharged in January.
A Bush spokesman said the former president, who lives most of the year in Houston, will celebrate with his family at their summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine. Bush's wife, Barbara, turned 88 years old on Saturday. Relatives are marking both birthdays.
