Driver sought in hit-and-run accident in southwest Houston

HOUSTON

The incident happened around 3:50pm on May 24 on the 6400 block of Rampart Street near the Moonmist intersection.

Police say a 29-year-old male was walking on the eastbound sidewalk of Rampart St. when he was struck by a light blue SUV which had jumped the curb onto the sidewalk.

The suspect's vehicle also hit a concrete barrier there.

The suspect didn't stop, continuing north on Rampart, then making a right going east on High Star and another right going south on Mullins.

The victim suffered a broken leg and other minor injuries, according to authorities.

The driver is described as a Hispanic male. Witnesses reported seeing several other Hispanic teen females inside the vehicle.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a Saturn Vue SUV that witnesses describe a being "poorly painted light blue." The vehicle also had a broken back window, which was covered and taped with a light colored plastic covering.
