Man tied to Anonymous back in court

DALLAS, TX

Barrett Brown is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Wednesday in federal court in Dallas.

He landed in prison after posting Twitter messages and YouTube videos ripping opponents and the FBI, which he said was investigating him.

He's charged with making Internet threats, retaliating against law enforcement, identity theft and concealing evidence, among other counts.

Wednesday's hearing is expected to address whether Brown can afford an attorney on his own. He's currently represented by a public defender.

Retired Judge Advocate General's Corps officer Charles Swift and University of Texas law professor Ahmed Ghappour are expected to take the case.
