Girl almost taken during north Harris Co. carjacking

HOUSTON

The incident happened around 7:50pm at the Walmart off Louetta near Interstate 45.

It was supposed to be a quick trip to the store for a birthday present but instead turned into high drama in the parking lot.

It all happened in seconds and took one mother by surprise as she was parking her truck.

"A guy came with a gun and just opened the door and yanked her out of the truck -- threw her out and just started driving off," the woman's husband, Brian Spencer said. "The scariest part was my daughter was in the back."

Spencer's wife chased after the suspects through the parking lot, but just couldn't keep up.

"I finally just started screaming, 'My daughter's in there, my daughter's in there,'" she said.

Her screams finally got other people's attention and with another vehicle now chasing her truck, the robber finally released her daughter. The swollen-eyed seven-year-old told us how it happened.

"He told me to get out so said I said 'OK' and I started crying and so he just pulled me out and opened the door and threw me out," the girl said. "I landed on my hands and he just took off."

The robber was last seen heading onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 in the Spencers' 2000 maroon Chevy Silverado pickup, which has Texas License Plate No. 30ZFF5.

Anyone who spots the vehicle is asked to contact local authorities.
