Suspect arrested in fatal bar shooting

HOUSTON

Police on Tuesday announced 33-year-old Rodrick Odell Williams has been charged with murder. Online jail records did not list an attorney for Williams, who was being held without bond following his Jan. 10 arrest.

He's charged with killing 35-year-old Damon Romel Williams of Stafford. Police say the two men are not related.

Investigators say several men in Cube's Sports Bar got into an argument. Officers who responded to a shooting call found the victim's body in the parking lot.

Police later secured information identifying Rodrick Williams. Further details on what led to the suspect weren't immediately released. Police are trying to determine what prompted the argument.

Several patrons were inside the club and in the parking lot when the shooting took place, however, they all fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival. Investigators are asking any other witnesses to the incident to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
