It happened around 2am, a man and woman asked to use the bathroom at the IHOP on Cypress Station North off FM 1960. The manager and waitress let them use the facilities but it turned out they were scoping the place out. They both left then returned with a shotgun.
The man cocked the shotgun while the woman held the door open and worked as a lookout, police say. They got away with the cash register and the waitress's purse. No customers were inside the IHOP at the time.
The waitress and manager were later taken by deputies to identify two possible suspects caught a short time later.
