Police say an officer tried to pull over a driver in a stolen vehicle. The driver refused and took police through the North Freeway and the feeder road.
The pursuit continued for four blocks until the suspect lost control and crashed into a utility pole, gas pumps and a fence on Glenburnie near the North Freeway.
The driver was pinned inside the car then was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. At last check, the driver was stable.
A passenger tried to flee the scene but was quickly arrested, officials said.
The crash caused the area to temporarily lose power.
