At about 8:40am, a piece of lift equipment caught fire inside a storage tank being constructed at the OxyChem Battleground Plant in La Porte. The plant's Emergency Response Team immediately responded and extinguished the fire.
An OxyChem spokesperson says there were no offsite impacts. All workers were accounted for and there were no reported injuries.
The local community was made aware of the incident via an electronic notification system.
