There is a warning for parents on the northeast side of town. Police at Sheldon ISD tell us someone tried to abduct a student near her school.

This happened Monday morning along Tidwell right near C.E. King High School. A 10th grade female student was walking to school when, according to officials with the Sheldon ISD, she was nearly abducted.

School officials say the suspect had a mask covering his mouth and nose and was wearing a navy hooded sweatshirt. The suspect attempted to grab the student, but she was able to get away and run to school. They also say the suspect was on foot at the time of the attempted abduction.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6, weighing about 150 pounds.

The district has warned parents about the incident. THey urged them to take extra precautions and to ask their children to be watchful.

If you have any information on who this person is, you are being asked to call the Harris County sheriff's department.
