With the flick of a switch, 450,000 twinkling lights came to life Saturday night on the mall's 55-foot Christmas tree.
The tree lighting was part of the Galleria's annual Ice Spectacular.
Hundreds of people crowded around the ice rink to watch the tree -- complete with 5,000 ornaments -- glow for the first time this holiday season. They also enjoyed an ice show and musical performances.
