Garland man gets 15 years in 'passion' killing

GARLAND, TX

The jury Thursday found that 47-year-old Mark Lynn Milligan of Garland shot Jesus Dominguez in an act of "sudden passion," which downgraded his punishment range. Prosecutors had sought a sentence of 25 years to life. Milligan could be eligible for parole in 7 1/2 years.

The Dallas Morning News reports that earlier in the day, jurors had convicted Milligan in the killing of the 36-year-old tattoo artist in October 2011.

It's unclear whether Milligan's wife or Dominguez sent the photo.
