Suspect arrested after running inside Babies 'R Us store

HOUSTON

It happened this afternoon at the store on FM 1960 at Cypress Station, which is west of I-45. A man police were looking for reportedly ran inside the store, which was quickly evacuated.

Dozens of law enforcement officers showed up both in front of and behind the building. Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies went inside with a police dog. That dog apparently found the suspect and bit him.

The suspect was taken into custody.

We're told the situation started earlier as the suspect was at a nearby McDonald's harassing customers. He reportedly gave a false name to Precinct 4 deputy constables and when they walked back to confront him, he took off running.

He first ran into a Wing Stop and then into the Babies 'R Us. After a search of the store, he was found underneath a baby bed.

We're still working to gather details and will post them here on abc13.com as they become available. And make sure to stay with Eyewitness News for the very latest.
