Staff Sgt. Jason Manko was sentenced after pleading guilty to wrongfully seeking an intimate relationship with a trainee and wrongfully engaging in sexual activity with that trainee. He also received a reduction in grade to airman first class, forfeiture of $500 in pay per month for three months, and hard labor for 30 days.
Manko and 17 other instructors have been investigated in a scandal that led to criminal charges against six and rocked Air Force leadership. Five have now been sentenced, and the rest remain under investigation.
More than 40 women have been identified as victims.
