Customs agents have arrested a man at Bush Intercontinental Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine in plaques.

Giovanni Quiroz, 46, brought the plaques from Lima, Peru. Investigators say he made inconsistent statements about his belongings and where he was headed.

They X-rayed his 18 painted plaques and reportedly found four and a half kilos of cocaine inside.

If convicted, Quiroz could face up to 40 years in federal prison.
