Smash and grab robbers hit ATM in NE Houston

HOUSTON

It happened at a convenience store on Jensen near Lorraine around 3am. Police tell us the suspects put a chain around the ATM and dragged it out of the store, leaving a gaping hole behind.

The store owner, who has only owned the store for around six months, showed up to survey the damage.

"First thing, the alarm company called me and after that, the police called me that the vehicle hit the wall and they tried to get in," said store owner Rocky Lam. "They took an ATM."

Lam believes there could be a couple of thousand of dollars inside the ATM.

Authorities are following the chain marks, hoping to track down the suspects. Police are looking for what one witness described as four black males in a gray truck.

If you have any information, you're being asked to call authorities.
