A judge in Waxahachie sentenced 64-year-old James Gordon Leonard to the maximum penalty.
Prosecutors in Ellis County say Leonard in April 2006 pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child by contact and indecency with a child by exposure.
He was granted community supervision, but authorities say Leonard did not abide by the required terms as a registered sex offender. He fled in May 2007, was located in Honduras last October and returned to Texas.
A judge Wednesday resentenced Leonard after hearing testimony on behalf of several victims. Leonard must serve at least 45 years before being eligible for parole.
