Boehner: Obama 'checked out' last Labor Day

WASHINGTON

Boehner told reporters at his weekly press conference Wednesday that Obama is shrinking from his responsibility to lead and doesn't have the courage to tackle the problems that face the nation.

The tough talk comes a day after Boehner and his Senate counterpart, Kentucky Republican Mitch McConnell, endorsed Republican Mitt Romney for president. Boehner declined Wednesday to offer advice to the remaining Republicans in the race, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.
