It happened around 11:30pm on Highway 6 at Sugar Land Airport.
According to Sugar Land police, an SUV was traveling north on Highway 6 when the driver somehow lost control and swerved from the left lane over the grassy median and into southbound traffic.
The SUV smashed into an oncoming car.
The driver of the car was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious but stable condition, officials said. The driver of the SUV was taken by ground to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
