Murder suspect charged in another deadly crime

HOUSTON

Jose Alfredo Dominguez, 27, is accused of fatally stabbing Ercile Johnson, 54, inside Johnson's Baytown apartment. Baytown police were called to the home on Sunday morning. They say Johnson, who was last seen alive on Friday evening, had suffered stab wounds and severe trauma to his head and neck. His cell phone and white 2001 Dodge truck were stolen.

On Monday, police located Dominguez in an area he was known to frequent. They say he confessed to Johnson's murder. Dominguez has been charged with capital murder through the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Dominguez was out on bond for an unrelated murder charge from June 2008. In that case, he is accused of strangling Ever Gomez.

Police say Johnson's truck has not been found. The truck, a white 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD has temporary Texas tags of 93P-2454, and is considered stolen.

Kevin Quinn will have more on this story this afternoon on ABC13 Eyewitness News.
